Community Care at Oxford Place

At present 15 different organisations have offices in the Oxford Place Centre.

In the original Community Care Centre in the basement are:

  • The Children's Centre
  • People in Action

In Oxford Chambers there are seven organisations:

In Gallery there are six organisations:

The Community Care Centre

This is located in the basement of the church. Entry is through the doors at the bottom of the steps on the Westgate side of the building. There is a ramp to both sets of doors from Oxford Row at the rear of our building. There are two organisations in the basement:

Children's Centre

is open from 9.30am until 1.00pm and from 1.30pm until 4.00pm, Monday to Friday for children whose parents are attending the adjacent courts as defendants, witnesses, because of domestic proceedings, or just to support friends. The centre is supervised by qualified staff.

aims to enrich people's lives by bringing together volunteers and people with learning disabilities; and to provide continuing support in the community.

Oxford Chambers

The entrance to the Chambers is in Oxford Place, next to the two telephone boxes, facing the Town Hall. There are seven organisations in the Chambers.

Women's Counselling and Therapy Service

is run for women by women, offering individual and group psychology and counselling service.

is a voluntary home visiting scheme working with families with children under five years who are experiencing difficulties or suffering stress.

is an independent service helping separating couples and divorcing couples reach agreements after divorce. Focuses on the needs and wishes of children.

The Gallery

The Gallery is in the upper part of the centre. To get to the Gallery enter the Chambers and go up to the third floor. There are six organisations in the Gallery.

is a voluntary organisation offering practical help and advice for women during pregnancy.

Access

Disabled access

There is access for the disabled to all parts of the Oxford Place Centre.
  • The Community Care Centre in the basement has a ramp from Oxford Row at the rear of the building.
  • Oxford Chambers has a stair lift alongside the entrance stairs, and a lift to other floors.
  • The Gallery has a lift near the stairs from the third floor of the Chambers to the Gallery.
The main entrance to the church premises has a ramp from the telephone boxes to the top of the steps.
